“But this is only a simple thing for the LORD, for he will make you victorious…The next day at about the time when the morning sacrifice was offered, water suddenly appeared! It was flowing from the direction of Edom, and soon there was water everywhere.”
2 Kings 3:18, 20 NLT
In a dry valley with no water in sight, God’s people were desperate for answers. I remember feeling like that while living in America so our kids didn’t have to live at boarding school. Yearning for Africa, I cried my way through dozens of mission services. However, when Ron announced God was nudging him to pastor again, I assumed the Africa dream would have to die. So, one morning I’ll never forget, I knelt beside our couch and prayed, “Ok God, if you never take me back to Africa, I will still serve You, just because I love you.”
In today’s verse, notice WHEN God’s miracle took place—about the time when the morning sacrifice was offered. I had no idea that Fall morning in 1992 that GOD was about to make water suddenly appear. But a few days after that morning sacrifice, we received an unexpected letter that set us on a path back to Nairobi as Pastors of International Christian Centre! GOD’s miracle water not only refreshed our lives but gave life to thousands.
So, no matter what dry valley you walk through, remember the importance of surrender. Whether your daily sacrifice is in the morning, afternoon, or evening, God will notice, and GOD will send water.
Miracles are a simple thing for the LORD! HE will make you victorious!
