“So the Lord gave wisdom to Solomon, just as He had promised.”
1 Kings 5:12
When a package does not arrive as promised, a recipe does not turn out as promised, or a salesman does not give you the deal as promised, our emotions can quickly range from disappointment to outright anger! But there is one Person we can always trust to do what He says.
God promised He would give Solomon wisdom, and God delivered, just as He promised. I desperately need that same wisdom, but can I be sure God will give it to me? Well, HE promised:
“The Lord grants wisdom!” (Proverbs 2:6) Wisdom is a gift from God!
“The Sovereign Lord has given me his words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary. Morning by morning he wakens me and opens my understanding…” (Isaiah 50:4) My biggest need of wisdom is in relationships, and THAT wisdom I definitely need every morning!
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” (James 1:5) I’m so thankful My Father does not tire of me asking! In fact, He already provided Wisdom for me, even BEFORE I asked! In JESUS lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge! (Col. 2:3)
At Jesus’ feet, wisdom is delivered to my heart morning by morning, as promised!
