“At That Moment”

“The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the LORD…At that moment a thick cloud filled the Temple of the LORD.”

2 Chronicles 5:13 NLT

As God’s temples today, wouldn’t we love for our lives to be full of His Presence like that? However, there is always preparation for His coming, and it begins with the purification we read about yesterday in verse eleven.

Then I notice the next verse describes the musicians and their instruments. Interestingly, the names and instruments listed are the exact same ones King David had trained and organized before his death. (1 Chronicles 25) Even though David could not build the Temple, he made preparations for worship to flow IN the temple.

The man after God’s heart knew the pain of failure, but he also knew the joy of grace. David’s passion for worship was not driven by his musician skills but by his grateful heart for God’s grace. So, the 288 Levites he trained to sing and play instruments and the 120 priests he trained to blow trumpets, were prepared for one purpose—to worship the God of grace! And as those instrumentalists and singers performed together in unison, as they raised their voices together in praise, at that moment God’s presence filled the Temple.

In Solomon’s temple, the priests were purified and unified in preparation for God’s Presence. So what about our temples? When our hearts are clean and we stay in unison

At that moment

God’s presence will fill our lives wherever we go!
