“Then God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.’ And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness.”
Genesis 1:3-4 NLT
Without light, there would be no way to see. Without light, no creation. So no wonder God’s first recorded words were, “Let there be light!” God saw light was good—a necessity for creation to take place, in the beginning as well as now.
God still wants to turn chaos into beauty. But have you ever heard of a creator working in the dark? Of course, we want to see God’s miracles in our lives, but let’s not forget—the Creator needs light to work! Yet how often do we run from His Light because we’re afraid of what it might reveal?
If my husband has a pen in his pocket when he gives me a hug, it presses on my bones. That pen may be small, but I don’t want it between us because it hurts! That must be how God feels. He wants to be close to us. But if anything gets in the way of that relationship—even though it may seem small—it interferes with His hugs.
So, why be afraid of God’s Light? Only in the Light will you see the debris that’s hindering your relationship. Only in the Light can the Creator mold you into His image. Only in the Light will you see HIM more clearly.
It's time for YOU to give the invitation now:
“God, let there be Light!”
