“But you will not even need to fight. Take your positions; then stand still and watch the LORD’s victory. He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Go out against them tomorrow, for the LORD is with you!”
2 Chronicles 20:17 NLT
What if a commander ordered his soldiers to take their positions, but instead they ran around frantically, not knowing where to stand? After hours of studying the training manual and months of practicing combat, what if when they faced the real enemy, they forgot their positions?
That may sound crazy, but is that how I act? When My Commanding Officer warns, “The enemy is near, take your position,” do I know where to stand? Oh yes, I study the Manual and attend week-end warrior school, but when the enemy attacks, am I frantic, or do I stand still? I cannot take my position against the enemy if I do not know my position!
God is my Father, so I am HIS child. THAT is my position. I am loved, forgiven, and redeemed. As God’s child, I am rich beyond measure. I live by HIS truth, HIS authority, and HIS power. I wear HIS robes of righteousness, HIS armor, and a garment of praise to HIS holy Name. As God’s child I live at HIS side, in HIS arms, under HIS wings, and I stand on THE Rock. Through HIM I am victorious, for HE goes before me, comes behind me, and walks beside me.
I will not fear! I KNOW my position—I am GOD’s child.
No matter what the enemy does, I will take my position and stand firm!
