“Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
“I am with you always,” perhaps Jesus’ most cherished promise, is what we often depend on to get us through tough times. However recently, I noticed that promise is tied to a bigger purpose, and Jesus invites us to be part of it!
We know Jesus came to our world to connect people with the God who loves the world. We know He chose twelve disciples to walk with Him and learn HOW God loves. But let’s not forget, Jesus gave them a final assignment—Make disciples of all nations…pass on everything you received from Me! Then He sealed those instructions with THAT promise, “And BE SURE of this: I am with you always!”
Of course, Jesus wants to help His disciples through tough times, but He also wants us to get involved in HIS work—helping EVERYONE through tough times! It’s AS we pass on the love we’ve received to ALL people, we can be sure of one thing: The God of Love will be with us!
And when Jesus added, “…even to the end of the age,” He lovingly underscored that even in the times you and I live, we can be sure!
No matter where we live in THIS age, all nations are near our doorsteps.
Let’s love them ALL with GOD’s love, so one day they too can BE SURE!
