“Godly Seeds Multiply”

“But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more they multiplied and spread,

and the more alarmed the Egyptians became.”

Exodus 1:12

The book of Exodus opens with the names of the sons of Israel who moved to Egypt during the great famine. From a small community of seventy people, the Israelites “…multiplied so greatly that they became extremely powerful and filled the land.” Out of fear, the Egyptians made the Israelites their slaves, hoping the brutality would crush their growth. “But the more the Egyptians oppressed them, the more they multiplied and spread, and the more alarmed the Egyptians became.” Nothing could hold this family of God down!

Sometimes we tend to fear oppression, thinking the enemy will crush us completely. On the contrary, the exact opposite is true. We are GOD’s kids. There is a Power far greater inside us that no enemy can defeat. When we allow HIS character, the fruit of HIS Spirit, to shine through us, those seeds of influence keep on multiplying and spreading. Consequently, it is our enemy who should be alarmed!

Therefore, next time you feel discouraged when the enemy is oppressing you, remember God’s family in Egypt. That same Power that caused His kids to multiply even during bondage, is flowing through you now. No suffering or sorrow, no pain or adversity can stop the growth of the Godly seeds you have faithfully planted. You can be sure…

they too WILL multiply!
