“And the Lord did as Moses asked and caused the swarms of flies to disappear…
Not a single fly remained.”
Exodus 8:31
Moses’ encounter with God at the burning bush was not a one-time occurrence. From his first step back onto Egyptian soil, Moses realized the journey ahead would not be easy. But instead of running AWAY like he did before, Moses began a new habit…running TO God. In fact, he ran time after time. Through all the impossible confrontations with Pharaoh, Moses learned to know the God of miracles.
When Moses cried out to the Lord about the frogs, the Lord did just what he asked. Again, when the flies came swarming in, same story. The book of Exodus is full of these scenarios…problem too great, Moses runs to God, problem solved! Moses life was full of miracles because of where he ran!
Moses understood a simple truth: if God assigns a task greater than our own wisdom and strength, then we better ask for HIS! That daily running TO God earned Moses the highest reward…a relationship of intimacy and power. In fact, after numbers of such encounters, God finally said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.”
I want to experience that power of relationship, so I also choose to keep on running!
