“Morning Will Come”

Updated: Jun 23, 2023

“And evening passed and morning came...”

Genesis 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31

“Evening passed and morning came,” an intriguing phrase to repeatedly appear in the opening narrative of Genesis. For six days God created, and the description of each day’s work was marked with those exact words.

As each day dawned, God created something distinctly different from what He had designed the previous day. And yet, each new day’s handiwork complimented that of the day before, and made way for the miracles that would appear the following day. Together these daily creations completed a masterpiece that is breathtaking to this day!

Similarly, this is a picture of my life. The evenings keep passing and the mornings keep coming, many of which seem quite mundane. And yet, my God is fashioning fresh creations every day. He understands that the miracles of yesterday will not be sufficient for my needs today. Therefore, He shapes today’s miracles to compliment yesterday’s, and at the same time makes way for tomorrow’s. Each day’s creation fits perfectly into my life’s masterpiece. So, when I feel bored with the same routine day after day, I can remind myself that evening will pass, and morning will come…and somewhere in the in between, something brand new is being formed!
