“Pairs of each kind of bird and each kind of animal, large and small alike,
will come to you to be kept alive.”
Genesis 6:20
Before God sent the flood, He instructed Noah to build an ark for the preservation of life. God’s plan included more than simply survival after a disaster, but He wanted all to be fruitful and multiply. Therefore, God told Noah that pairs of every kind of animal “will come to you to be kept alive.” That included ALL animals, both domestic and wild! And those animals did exactly what God said: “Two by two they came into the boat…” (Gen. 7:14-15)
Amazing! God directed the animals! HE made sure every one of those creatures got into the ark, their hope for the future! Just think…those were animals that God had simply spoke into existence. How much more will God take care of YOU whom He carefully, lovingly formed in His own image? Didn’t Jesus say, “Look at the birds…Aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?” (Mt.6:26)
Our God always has His purposes in mind ahead of time, and then guarantees His plans are fulfilled (Jer. 1:12). Therefore, no matter how many floods you face, you can be confident that the same God who planned the animals’ preservation has also arranged yours.
