“Moses and Aaron…blessed the people again, and the glory of the Lord appeared to the whole community. Fire blazed forth from the Lord’s presence and consumed the burnt offering…When the people saw this, they shouted with joy and fell face down on the ground.”
Aaron and his sons had just completed their ordination process. They had given the required offerings, been dressed in priestly garments, anointed with holy oil, and purified by the blood of animals. Following those procedures, they spent seven days and nights in the Presence of the Lord.
The following day, right after the priests obeyed all God had told them to do, the Lord kept His promise and appeared to them, blazing forth with a consuming fire. But let’s note that God did not just appear to the newly ordained priests…the glory of the Lord appeared to the whole community, and they quickly responded with joy and worship!
I believe God wants to appear to my community as well. So, what if I allow Jesus to daily clothe me in robes of righteousness? What if I offer the gifts God has given me as a living sacrifice? What if I hang out in His Presence more and more? And what if I live in obedience to His Word?
I notice that when the priests obeyed, God appeared that very day! I expect the same…As I obey His Word, God will appear to me daily with fresh revelations of Himself!
And may my life reflect those revelations of God
and show His glory to the whole community around me.
