“Just then a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind him. She touched the fringe of his robe…Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, ‘Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.’ And the woman was healed at that moment.”

When Covid hit our world, the isolation we felt seemed endless. So, imagine being isolated for twelve long years! The religious pushed this unclean woman out of the synagogue; family and friends pushed her out of their homes, and she had no FaceTime or Zoom! Doctors could not heal her issues, people were afraid of her issues, and so she suffered alone.
However, when that desperate woman heard about Jesus, nobody was going to keep her away from Him! She bravely pushed her way through the crowd until her quivering hand touched Jesus’ robe. But instead of hearing, “Shameful woman!” Jesus turned and called her, “Daughter!”
One touch of Jesus’ power healed her broken body, but it was that one word of Jesus’ gentle love that healed her heart and restored her soul— “Daughter!”
Isolation takes on different forms. You may feel afraid of people, or you may feel people are afraid of you! Either way, every time you’re disappointed, the more alone you feel. As the the darkness of isolation thickens, it chokes the life out of your soul!
But today, I dare you—venture out of that darkness. You may have only a glimmer of faith left, but like that woman, reach out your trembling hand to Jesus.
Let Him restore your soul with one loving word, “Daughter!”
